Since September 1st 2017, certain new cars have had their fuel emissions tested using the Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicle Test Procedure (WLTP) - a new, more realistic test procedure for measuring fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. On September 1st 2018, the WLTP fully replaced the previous testing procedure, the New European Drive Cycle (NEDC), for all new passenger cars.
